and ethical implications of emerging technologies. Her current DECRA research
project – entitled Cyberhate: The New Digital Divide? – observes that although the internet’s rapid growth has delivered
countless social benefits, it also offers people new opportunities to attack

This project aims to provide a map of the multimodal genres and forms of social affiliation that are emerging on social media platforms in Australia. It will explore how people living with a mental illness, their carers and supporters, as well as public institutions and organisations, are using Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to tell personal stories about mental illness and discuss mental health.
